The cultural programs were given much prominence at the SVEI Annual Day and Birthday Celebrations of Chairman Dr. Mohan Babu. Hundreds of students enjoyed the joyous moments. Hero and Trust CEO Mr. Vishnuvardhan Babu anchored the event with a stylish rendering of jokes and commentary on the program whenever necessary. The guests presented the Gold medals to the meritorious students of engineering, Pharmacy and other divisions.
Highlights:
* There was a huge clap from the audience galleries whenever Dr. Mohan Babu referred to late NTR as the one who brought world recognition to Telugus.
* The students profusely responded to the speech of Lok Satta national convener Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, when he termed the youth as the powerful force which alone could change the society and end corruption.
* Minutes before the event's conclusion, Dr. Mohan Babu allowed a schoolgirl to sing a song, which she specially prepared in praise of the Vidyanikethan family. "I consider that this child's song is more important than my speech. She is more than my daughter," Dr. Mohan Babu said.
* In the morning, hundreds of students, staff members and general public profusely garlanded Dr. Mohan Babu and greeted him.
